WeRock Dirt Riot - Congress Arizona

Last weekend marked the beginning of the 2014 WeRock Season

The first race of the season took place at Thompsons Ranch just outside of Congress, Arizona.
To start off the season this weekend would be a double header featuring both rock crawling and dirt riot racing action. Here are some of my personal favorites from the weekend.

Starting with an end.

2013 is just about wrapped up as I sit here writing my first blog post. Its been a long time coming and now its here. Not as exciting as I was hoping but then again maybe that's why Ive held off from creating one for so long. I plan to keep this blog updated in 2014 with my latest adventures and progress in the world of photography. That's my new years resolution. Simple. Make a post everytime I do something worth mentioning.
I couldn't be more excited for 2014, This past year has been one for the books. I was lucky to meet a lot of new people and form new friendships, I was published multiple times, And traveled to new places. But the year did not start off so successful nor has it been a stress free year. In fact, the year started off with a bang. The kind of bang that all skiers and athletes alike fear, That of an ACL tearing apart. It happened while interning with local Utah skiing and bike photographer Steven Lloyd in the last couple weeks of January 2013. It went from an awesome day shredding and learning from the master photog, to a toboggan ride to the Alta clinic.
Before: (Same day as tear)                            A couple days after surgery:

With the help of a great surgeon and therapist, I was up walking and running within no time.
Almost a year later (And a stack of medical bills) Im about 95% back to normal Id say.
But even with this exciting experience the good easily out weighed the bad. I was able to shoot a lot of fun events this year. From the local Delta Old School Rock Crawl to a handful of WeRock Dirt Riot races and a few events in between.

I love shooting offroad racing and this next year I have plans to make it out to a lot more events. Sad fact is I am yet to be published in the offroad world, and that is something I am ready to change in 2014.
Although I have not been published in the offroad industry I am super stoked on the work I accomplished this year in the Hunting industry.
Started off with this simple ad for Horn Hunters (Published in print) -

Goal Zero Ads: (Published Online)

Scored the front cover of Core 4 Element 2014 catalog as well as some shots inside:
And the Crown Jewel, Cover of the January 2014 Inside Archery Magazine:
(This magazine also features a 5 page story all photography shot by me.)
This past year has been a roller coaster. Good and bad but in the end a very successful year. I could not have made it if it were not for my amazing wife and countless friends and family both new and old.

I have a solid list of goals and expectations for myself in 2014 and I couldn't be more excited to get after it.
To wrap up 2013 here are a couple of my personal favorites from the year:
